Berkeley CA Precautionary Purchasing Policy
Berkeley’s Environmentally Preferable Purchasing Policy was adopted by the City Council in 2004 and is based on the precautionary principle which the city adopted in 2003. The policy requires consideration of energy efficiency, resource conservation, recycled content, waste minimization and toxicity when selecting vendors and products.
