New York State Agency Green Cleaning Policy
New York's Governor George Pataki issued a state Executive Order in 2005 to promote the use of environmentally-preferred or "green" cleaning products by all state agencies "to help protect human health and the environment without sacrificing product effectiveness." The EO was rescinded by Governor Eliot Spitzer in early 2007, but officials state that the policy is still being implemented and the EO will probably be reissued.
